The Florida Meat Goat
Association was formed, in 1986, to promote the meat goat industry
in Florida; to develop a better meat goat, to expand existing
markets for goat meat and value added goat products.
FMGA
participates in education and promotional programs via it’s
workshops, and conferences. Through them we have enabled would-be
producers the knowledge they need to get started as goat producers.
We
work with the 4-H & FFA shows whenever possible. Though the primary
purpose of the FMGA is in the production and marketing of goat meat,
there is a secondary interest in the showing and promotion of
breeding stock goats of all breeds.
